Just two hours drive north of Sydney, on 40 acres of grounds overlooking the surrounding mountain ranges and neighbouring vineyards, Spicers Guesthouse is perfectly situated to allow you to explore the traditional cellar doors and vineyards of the Hunter Valley Wine country.

The area is home to a wide variety of cellar doors and Spicers Guesthouse is perfectly located in Pokolbin, the heart of the region. The Guest House has been an iconic destination within the Hunter Valley since 1984. Having undergone an 18 month revitalisation the retreat has an inviting, homely feel that envelops guests once inside. The upgrade reflects a fresh contemporary uplift while the welcoming spirit of the original Guest House has been preserved.

Spicers Guesthouse offers luxuriously appointed guest rooms and suites with a classic contemporary feel, drawing on the natural colour scheme of the Hunter region as inspiration. 

A range of recreational options and activities give guests the opportunity to explore the Hunter Valley. Make the most of the many experiences including complimentary bike hire, tennis, wine tastings, enjoy a private picnic for two, drinks at the outdoor fire pit, hot air balloon and helicopter rides. Relax by the swimming pool or plunge into the heated spa. The guest lounge is perfect for a pre-dinner drink in front of the fireplace.

Éremo Restaurant with its modern Italian cuisine is a centrepiece of the retreat, led by multi-hatted Executive Chef Cameron Matthews, the experience is exceptional. The menu is complemented by a well-travelled wine list, including some of the Hunter Valley’s best vintages and a selection of those from further afield.  The stunning private dining room, which overlooks the valley and famous Wine Wall, can be booked for up to 14 guests. Open for lunch 12:00pm & 1:30pm Saturday & Sunday, dinner 6:00pm, 7:00pm & 8:00pm sittings daily.
